A new art exhibit by photographer Steve Brunger will be welcomed into West Michigan Bank & Trust in Frankfort, MI beginning August 7th, 2014.  The exhibit will be on display until November 28th, 2014.   The community is invited to “Meet the Artist” at a reception for Steve on August 8th, 2014 from 4pm – 6pm at the WMB&T Frankfort Office. The exhibit features the Frankfort and Elberta area.

All but one of the photographs in the exhibit are nature pictures.  That sole picture is of the customers’ entrance at the Wayfarer Inn on M-22 in Elberta, MI; window boxes of iris’ planted by Iris, the owner.  The exhibit showcases trilliums from the hills next to the lookout in Elberta, individually decorated stones on the Frankfort beach last summer, sunset pictures from the Elberta overlook and the Betsie Trail near the M-22 Bridge.

Steve states that he “was bitten by the photography bug in Frankfort.  I had been vacationing here for years and started taking photographs with a HP point and click camera. Because the area is so photogenic, I knew the camera and I were going to have to go in a separate direction.”

Three years ago he purchased a Cannon Rebel with an 18-200 MM cannon lens which he considers his first real camera. Along the way, Steve has taken photography classes and spoken to every photographer that would stop and listen to his questions on their equipment.

Steve grew up in Haslett near East Lansing, Michigan.  He has been vacationing in the Grand Traverse and Leelanau Peninsula area since 1985. In 2006, Steve selected Frankfort as his second home because he’s always loved the lake and lakeshore.  He thinks Frankfort and Lake Michigan make an incredibly beautiful combination.

West Michigan Bank & Trust invites you to view Steve’s photography exhibit during normal banking hours. The exhibit is free of charge and is located at 501 Main Street, Frankfort, MI. For more information, please call (31) 352-9655.
